1. Scope
This SMS Opt-In and Messaging Policy applies to text messages sent by MBS (“MBS,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) to mobile numbers provided to us through this website, our client-facing applications, or in the course of our business operations. It supplements our Privacy Policy.
This policy does not cover text messages sent by a healthcare provider, practice, or other client using its own systems. Those messages are governed by that organization’s own policies.
2. Types of messages we send
- Security and authentication. One-time verification codes used for multi-factor authentication when signing in to an MBS application.
- Account and service notices. Operational messages relating to an existing engagement, such as scheduling or follow-up on a support request.
- Business communication. Where you have asked us to reach you by text after submitting a form or speaking with our team.
Message frequency varies and depends on your account activity and how you asked us to contact you. We do not send recurring marketing text campaigns.
3. How you opt in
We send text messages only to numbers provided to us by the person who controls that number, and only for the purpose that number was given. Consent is obtained in one of the following ways:
- Entering a mobile number and enabling multi-factor authentication in an MBS application.
- Providing a mobile number on a website form and indicating that text contact is acceptable.
- Asking a member of our team, in writing or on a call, to follow up by text.
4. Enrollment screens
Because multi-factor authentication enrollment takes place inside an authenticated area of our applications, the screens a user sees when enrolling a mobile number are reproduced below.

Consent language shown at enrollment
Enrollment is initiated by the user. No mobile number is added to SMS delivery by MBS staff, by import, or by any automated process.
5. How to stop messages
Reply STOP to any message to stop further text messages from that program. You will receive a single confirmation that messaging has ended. Reply HELP for assistance, or contact us at noc@mbsrcm.com.
Stopping text messages does not close your account or end your engagement with MBS, and we may still contact you by email or phone about your account. If you stop text messages while text-based multi-factor authentication is enabled, you will need a different verification method to sign in. Replying START or re-enrolling a number in account settings restores SMS delivery.
6. Carriers, rates, and delivery
Message and data rates may apply, depending on your mobile plan. Delivery depends on your carrier and network conditions; mobile carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Supported carriers may change without notice.
7. No PHI by text
Our own text messages are limited in content by design. Verification codes and operational notices do not contain patient information.
9. Changes and contact
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by a new effective date on this page. Questions about text messaging: noc@mbsrcm.com.
